PX 120 is the Sachman travelling column milling machine with a moving column, characterized by its large removal capacity and high precision and reliability. The morphology of the machine guarantees static and dynamic precision independent of the weight of the machined pieces.

The rugged cast iron slide Is fitted with hardened guideways that slide on counter-ways lined with low friction material. The slide is securely supported by the structure of the vertical axis in order to operate in extremely harsh conditions and is fitted with a hydraulically controlled balancing system. The modular cast iron bed is fitted with guideways and recirculating roller blocks. The column, also made of cast iron, rests on the slide of the X-axis which driven by a rack-pinion system with dual-drive technology. The cast iron vertical slide moves by means of counter-ways lined with low friction material, on large, hardened guide ways integral with the column. All the electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic cabinets, the toot changer, and operator station are positioned on the slide of the X-axis, thus reducing the footprint of the PX 120.

The design of the machine allows for dual zone machining or the ability to work in a cell with other machines designed for other operations. Together with the horizontal spindle version, it is possible to use oil-cooled universal indexed heads, Kosmo and Kosmo 3, that can support and command high-speed electric spindles for finishing operations. The modular chain type tool changer is mounted to the column and is fitted with an exchanger arm that allows tool changes with the spindle in both the vertical and horizontal position.
