The Machine Was Completely Rebuilt & Retrofitted in 2004 which included the following:
- The complete geometric rebuilding of the machine, with the X & Z axis slide ways reground
- The upgrade of all mechanical drive trains by replacing the X & Z axis drive trains with new
- The retrofitting of the machine with a new Fanuc 21i TA CNC system, which includes all new
digital servomotors, new wiring throughout, new electrical switchgear in a new panel and new
- Fully integrated 2-axis Fanuc 21i system and new electrical system
- Single saddle mounted on bridge, servomotor driven via a precision ground ball screw and
backlash-free reduction gearbox (X-Axis)
- Single vertical ram, mounted on saddle, servomotor driven via a precision ground ball screw
- Moving bridge, position able with lead screw-based gear train
- Moving table, position able with lead screw-based gear train
- Infinitely adjustable table speed from 1 to 120 rpm, with hydraulic gear changing through
typically 4 ranges
